Nurse's Corner

Cindy Lup
School Nurse
p: 631-4155 option 3
e: clup@htsdnj.org

Mrs. Lup is the school nurse at Kuser Elementary School.   She is in her office from 8:30 AM until 3:40 PM daily.   If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to call her at 631-4155 extension #3.

Please be sure your emergency cards are kept up-to-date.   It is very important that Mrs. Lup is able to contact a parent or other person designated on the card to pickup your child when they are injured or sick.  The district policy for returning to school after an illness is that they are fever-free for 24 hours.  This means that there has been no fever without Tylenol, Motrin or Advil.   If your child has been vomiting, they must tolerate normal meals before returning to school. (Please see the Illness Exclusion letter below for more information)  If your child requires medication, please obtain a medication form from the health office.   Once you have the physician fill out the form and you have signed it, the medication should be brought to school by the parents in a labeled container from the pharmacy.   If you are at the doctor’s office and they decide that your child needs medication at school, have them write it on a prescription pad and you then can sign the medication form when you bring the medication to school.

Please remember to call the school and leave a message in the attendance mailbox if your child is going to be late or out sick. It is a safety issue.

Again, please do not hesitate to call Ms. Yanucil anytime if you would like to discuss health issues, up-date your child’s health record with new health information, or just have a question or concerns.

Attention 5th Grade Parents:
All students entering the 6th grade are required to receive one dose of Tdap(Tetanus, Diphtheria, Acellular Pertussis) and one dose of a meningococcal-containing vaccine.  Your student will bring home reminder notices.  Once the vaccines are given, please send documentation of these immunizations to Ms. Yanucil.
